Local Firefighters Association Endorses Dan Dow for District Attorney

Valued for commitment to safety and style of leadership

San Luis Obispo – The San Luis Obispo City Firefighters Association has endorsed veteran and Candidate for District Attorney Dan Dow.

As a collective, the SLO City chapter, IAFF Local 3523 has protected the rights of its firefighters since 1876, while ensuring the highest level of service to their community through both professionalism and charity.

“Our Association stands with every other public safety organization that has made a decision to support a candidate in this race,” said Devin Reiss, Vice President of IAFF 3523. “We believe Dan is the best choice for District Attorney, and we value his commitment to the safety of our communities as well as his collaborative approach to leadership.”

Over the last seven months, Dan Dow has accumulated a broad coalition of support from friends and neighbors to colleagues, local elected officials and a former member of the United State House of Representatives. As the safety of San Luis Obispo County depends on both the leadership and experience of its District Attorney, the support of local law enforcement can often times dictate a race. This is an area where Dow continues to dominate, earning the endorsement of every law enforcement or public safety association that has endorsed a candidate for DA.

To date, Dan Dow has received the endorsement of every public safety organization in the race, including the SLO County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the Templeton Squad of Highway Patrolmen Association, Paso Robles Police Officer’s Association, Atascadero Police Association, Arroyo Grande Police Officer’s Association, Morro Bay Police Officer’s Association, SLO Deputy District Attorneys Association (SLOGAU), and the California Narcotic Officers’ Association.

“None of this could have been possible without the support of my wife, my fellow Deputy District Attorneys, or the hundreds of community members that have endorsed our campaign,” said Dow. “No one knows what June 3rd will bring, but both humility and confidence describe my feelings going into a night that defines the safety of our residents, schools, and seniors as well as the future of our County.”

As a Deputy District Attorney, Dow has focused on prosecuting domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes, including homicide where he seeks to bring justice for victims of particularly devastating crimes.
