California Narcotic Officers Association Endorses Dow for DA

Dow Recognized for His Efforts to Combat Drug Use Among Youth in SLO County

San Luis Obispo – Today the California Narcotic Officers’ Association (CNOA)—whose membership boasts of over 7,000 local, state, and federal peace officers, prosecutors, and law enforcement personnel—announced their endorsement of Dan Dow for District Attorney of San Luis Obispo County.

“Given his experience and clear passion for aggressively taking down drug dealers who are pushing hard drugs like Heroin and Methamphetamine on youth, Dan Dow is the clear choice for District Attorney,” remarked CNOA Executive Director, Joe Stewart. “Dow is a man of integrity who is fiercely committed to the safety and wellbeing of his community; his capacity for leadership on issues of justice and public safety is unparalleled.”

For over 50 years, CNOA has offered the finest training available in all areas of narcotic enforcement activities to the dedicated men and women who serve as the first line of defense against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the state of CA. Michael Kennedy, past president of CNOA, and 24 year District Attorney Investigator in San Luis Obispo said, “Dan Dow is exactly the type of strong leader we need to protect our community from dangerous drugs like heroin and methamphetamine that is destroying young lives in San Luis Obispo County.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the California Narcotic Officers’ Association,” stated Dow. “As District Attorney, I will work tirelessly to attack the increasing influence of hard drugs throughout our schools and community, while upholding my commitment to the most vulnerable in San Luis Obispo County. Our children, seniors, and veterans are an integral part of our community and I am committed to their safety and success.”

A lifelong advocate for victims of senseless crime, Dow is committed to sticking up for San Luis Obispo County’s youth, women and elderly by ensuring that the law is upheld to its fullest extent and offenders are brought to justice.

No stranger to public service, Dow served in the United States Army and continues to serve as a Major in the California National Guard. As a Deputy District Attorney, Dow has focused on prosecuting domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes, including homicide where he seeks to bring justice for victims of particularly devastating crimes.

Dow is the clear front-runner in the race for District Attorney. He has secured the endorsement of every public safety organization that has decided to publicly support a candidate in the race to replace retiring DA Gerry Shea, and each organization continues to cite Dow’s experience in the courtroom and commitment to public safety.
