Public Safety Virtually Unanimous in Supporting Dow for DA
Law Enforcement Makes Its Decision
San Luis Obispo, CA – Every law enforcement association that has endorsed in the race for SLO DA has supported veteran and current SLO Deputy District Attorney Dan Dow. Dow’s leading endorsement list also includes more than 100 law enforcement professionals from across the county. Public safety organizations have also unanimously endorsed Dan Dow, most notably the Police Officer’s Associations of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Arroyo and Morro Bay, as well as the SLO Deputy District Attorneys Association. Dow is the obvious choice of SLO law enforcement to keep our communities safe.
“I would be proud to lead the fight against gangs and drugs, domestic violence and child abuse in SLO as your next DA,” said Dow. “Thanks to the exceptional support I’ve received from friends and colleagues in the public safety community, I have a real possibility of serving my community in this amazing capacity.”
As a Deputy District Attorney for San Luis Obispo County, Dow currently specializes in the prosecution of predators who commit crimes of child molestation and abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. But his commitment to serve goes further than just the courtroom. He was influential in the creation of San Luis Obispo’s Veterans Treatment Court in 2013, which seeks to address the growing number of veterans entering the criminal justice system as a result of traumatic experiences they endured in the military.
Dow, an Army Veteran, has been deployed to Korea, Kosovo and most recently Iraq. He is still serving as a reserve Army Major, Command Judge Advocate. He is a dedicated volunteer to the community, speaking regularly on behalf of Women’s Shelters to provide financial and emotional support to victims.
As a dedicated father, Dan knows how important it is to provide for his family and ensure their security. Now, Dan Dow is committed to providing the same security for our residents, families, and business owners as the next District Attorney for San Luis Obispo County.
