Pismo Beach Councilman Ed Waage Endorses Dow for DA
San Luis Obispo – Pismo Beach Councilman Ed Waage has endorsed veteran and candidate for San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow.
Waage served on the Pismo Beach Planning Commission for four years before being elected to the Council in 2008. In addition to his leadership on the Council, Waage serves on the SLO Air Pollution Board, using his Ph.D. in chemistry to ensure the health and safety of residents and offer expertise on the effects of local projects.
“There is no one more committed to the safety of our residents than Dan Dow and I am confident he is the right person for the job,” said Waage. “When you have a solid background of two decades in the military, hundreds of cases in the court room and experience in the private sector you have someone well prepared to look at criminal justice issues with a broad community perspective.”
Dow has dedicated his life and career to both country and community. As a Veteran of the United States Army and a Major in the California Army National Guard, he has spent time pursuing justice both at home and overseas. As a Deputy District Attorney, Dow prosecutes cases of sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, and child abuse.
As the next District Attorney for San Luis Obispo County, Dow plans to use his experience in the courtroom and dedication to the community to ensure the region continues to be a safe place to work, live, and raise a family.
Dan and his wife Wendy, a local small business owner and reading instructor, have been married for 21 years. They have two children, Chloe, age 8 and Jedidiah, age 6.
