Dan Dow Endorsed By Prominent SLO County Republican

“By Far the Most Qualified Candidate”

San Luis Obispo, CA – SLO County Assessor and influential community leader Tom Bordonaro has endorsed Dan Dow for San Luis Obispo District Attorney. Bordonaro is a former Republican State Assemblymember and a past appointee by Governors of both parties – Republican Pete Wilson and Democrat Gray Davis – to the state Board of Prison Terms and the Adult Parole Board.

“Our residents deserve a District Attorney’s office that will crack down on crime, help our veterans, and fight the most important issues of today like AB109 Realignment and drug use in our schools,” said Bordonaro. “Dan is a dedicated public servant, gifted prosecutor, and absolutely committed to ensuring the safety of our community. He is by far the most qualified candidate for District Attorney.”

Assessor Bordonaro is the latest in a long line of SLO County public servants to highlight Dow’s strong credentials while publicly supporting his campaign. This includes all 23 SLO County Deputy District Attorneys, the Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the Police Officers Associations of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Arroyo Grande and Morro Bay, as well as a number of locally elected officials including San Luis Obispo County Supervisors Frank Mecham, Debbie Arnold, Shirley Bianchi (ret.), and Harry Ovitt (ret.), and retired Superior Court Judges Richard Kirkpatrick and Edward Chidlaw.

“I’d like to thank Tom for his endorsement, which again shows how united this community is against the constant threat of crime,” said Dow. “I am dedicated to the safety and the future of the Central Coast, and I will work hard to ensure that our beautiful County remains the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family. Together as a community I believe we can make that vision a reality.”

Dan Dow has always demonstrated a desire to serve both his local community and his country. As a San Luis Obispo County Deputy DA, Dow specializes in the prosecution of homicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse crimes. Currently an Army Major in the California Army National Guard, Dan has deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn and to Kosovo under Operation Enduring Freedom. Dow broadened his experience as a prosecutor by prosecuting Courts-Martial while in Iraq.

For the past eight years as Deputy District Attorney, Dow has consistently protected residents against the worst criminal offenders while advocating for victims of crime and their families. With a fast growing list of community leaders, elected officials and law enforcement officers endorsing his campaign, Dow looks to continue providing that same security for our residents, families, and business owners as the next San Luis Obispo District Attorney.

Dan and his wife Wendy have been married for 21 years. They have two children, Chloe, age 8 and Jedidiah, age 6.
